Two Fellowships, One Mission

Cultivating open inquiry & Viewpoint Diversity

The Mill Institute invites educators and education leaders to apply for two exciting Fellowship opportunities for the 2025-2026 academic year: the 4th Annual High School Teacher Fellowship and our brand new School Leader Fellowship.

Against the backdrop of heightened polarization, these Fellowships equip teachers and school leaders with the tools and strategies to build and sustain a culture within their classrooms and institutions where diverse perspectives and a rigorous, nonpartisan exploration of ideas can thrive.

The Fellowships launch together with an in-person retreat weekend in New York City from September 19-21, 2025.

WHY MAKE VIEWPOINT DIVERSITY A PRIORITY IN EDUCATION?

Our democracy depends on citizens who can navigate contradictory ideas and address complex civic challenges collaboratively. However, our current climate promotes tribalism, narrowing how we think about identity and encouraging us to treat open questions as though they’re settled. The Mill Institute helps educators push back against these pressures by cultivating robust cultures of inquiry in K–12 environments—equipping the next generation with the skills needed to sustain our democracy.
