School Leader Fellowship

The Mill Institute School Leader Fellowship is a 10-month program designed to equip heads of schools, principals, and senior administrators with the tools and strategies to sustain a nonpartisan, inquiry-driven culture, inspiring the next generation to think critically and engage meaningfully.

What the school Leader fellowship provides

Launch Weekend Retreat - September 19-21, 2025

Kickstart the Fellowship year with a two-day immersive experience featuring expert speakers, interactive workshops, and foundational training on fostering viewpoint diversity in schools.

Virtual Cohort Meetings

Regular virtual sessions will provide Fellows with opportunities to share progress, troubleshoot challenges, and learn from expert guest speakers on school leadership, pedagogy, and culture-building.

Professional Support & Coaching

Fellows receive one-on-one coaching, and access to expert advisory calls.

Peer Community

Become part of a network of forward-thinking school leaders committed to fostering intellectual diversity and free inquiry. Fellows share best practices, mentor one another, and build lasting professional relationships.

What You'll accomplish

Fellows will design and implement customized action plans to deepen a culture of open inquiry within their schools. These plans might include:

  • Refining policies on speech and expression.
  • Developing teacher training modules on viewpoint diversity.
  • Supporting student-led initiatives that promote rigorous debate and civil discourse.

 

Shared Framework & Resources

Fellows will contribute to a comprehensive roadmap designed to promote intellectual diversity, civil discourse, and mission-driven nonpartisanship in their school communities.

Lasting Community & Impact

Fellows join a growing alumni network, continuing to exchange insights, resources, and effective strategies for years to come. Their collective efforts form the foundation of a School Consortium dedicated to sustaining environments of inquiry-driven learning.
